It is a whopping -9 here right now. The school has called a school day. Due to the high wind chill. Plus we have Monday off too because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Yeah a long weekend!

Tonight I have to take Mike over to another school so he can be weighed in for tomorrows tournament. Last week he pinned a kid and lost 2 of his other matches. Hopefully things will get better. This is the first year that he is in the open tournaments. A lot of the kids that he is wrestling have more experience. From what I hear this tournament tomorrow is a harder one. So I am not sure how things will be going.

We will be having a transition meeting next month for Andrea for kindergarten in the fall. I think she is ready. She asks everyday if it is school day. She just loves it. I am hoping that she will be able to make some new friends.

It is also her birthday at the end of the month. I don't have a clue what she wants. I think that she has enough babies to play with. She isn't quite ready for any electronic games. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mike's Win Video

It took me a really long time to get Mike's win Video uploaded. Every time I would do it my computer updated and shut down. So here it is. Pay no attention to the loud mom at the end. I kinda got excited. The other people in the beginning are just other mom's in the stands. Oh I forgot Mike is the one in the yellow in brown.

We madeit home safely

I am so glad that we made our trip to Michigan when we did. The weather here last night and today has been terrible. Last night we got rain that froze to everything and today we got snow on top of that.

Our school district was on a 2 hour delay. Even though all of the areas around us had closed.
Our school district has a lot of back roads. They told the parents that the buses would not be out to pick up their children. Therefore the parents had to provide transportation at their own discretion.
They really should have just canceled school altogether.

While we were in Michigan we stopped at Tonya's to visit. I love her new house. Tonya has a gift of home decorating. Even her old house was decorated very nicely. I just love her style.
You can come and decorate mine anytime.
I can't believe how Knoha is growing. It seems like he has matured so much since this summer when I saw him last. He is now talking more and he is such a huge ham. I found that he loves the camera and he loves to snuggle with just about anyone. Lastly, the kid loves to eat. I thought Andrea was always eating. Knoah is too. They both must be going through a huge spurt.

Tonya took some pictures. My camera battery was dead. So we will have to wait to see if she posts them or e-mails them to me.

Thanks again Tonya for a great time!

Well that is all for now,

The trip is on

Tomorrow morning we will be attempting to take the trip to Michigan that was really suppose to happen last week. But due to car situation it had to be post- poned. We are suppose to have freezing rain tonight. So everyone please pray from a safe trip.

Mike had his first win yesterday even though he lost 2 matched we were quite proud of him. I am uploading the video now from the win. I would show the matches that he lost but I have been sworn never to do so. "Don't you know you have to protect my image mom", Mike says.

He must think that this blog can reach some important person like a girl he likes and embarrass him. Who knew that things like this would be happening when a boy turned 10. I thought that it would happen a lot later in life. Say maybe 12 or 13. Or is he right on track? Was 5th grade is when it all started happening? I remember passing notes that said , Do you like me? Circle yes or no. I don't remember it being this crazy. Like having to have name brand clothes and having to wear my hair a certain way. It seems to be happening younger and younger.

Well I need to run and finish packing. As soon as the video is done I will have it on here.

Trip Canceled.

Our trip to Michigan was canceled. We had everything packed and in the car. When Bill went to start it it wouldn't start. So our new car which we have had for a month had to go back to the garage. It seems that the AC compressor was frozen and they need to put a router pulley on it to bypass it. They had to order the part and it won't be here until Friday. So on Monday hopefully we will be able to make the trip then. The only issue is that I have to find someone to watch Mike after school.

Not to mention Bill will have to walk tonight to work in the cold.

Tomorrow Mike's dad is leaving for New Jersey to train for 2 weeks and then he will be leaving to go to Iraq. His dad's wife is expecting a baby and is due late April. So hopefully he will be back for leave then. He has to do a years tour. Please keep him in your prayers.

Saturday Mike has another tournament. Hopefully things go better this time around.
That is all for now,

Update

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. Everything was great here. Everyone enjoyed thier gifts was a plus for me. Since I am the one that does all of the shopping and wrapping.
Bill and I don't buy each other gifts so I have nothing great or spectacular to tell you about.

Mike had a wrestling match yesterday and things didn't go exactly as he wanted them to. He got pinned in both of his matches. He was very mad at himself. This is the first tournament of the year and it was set up with odd ages. Therefore, he was the younger of the 2 age groups. The first guy he wrestled was third in the state. So that is all I need to say about that. The second guy just out maneuvered him. You win some you loose some. Hopefully this Saturday will work out better for him. He will be in the top part of the age group this week. It will be 9-10 years old.

Bill's children are still here. They will be staying until Wednesday. They we will be taking them back home to Michigan. Hopefully the weather will be a little bit better this time. When we went to pick them up there was 30 cars in the ditch from my house to the other side of Cleavland. Another 20 in the ditch on the way home. The weather was just awefull. Bill had worked the night before and drove both ways. I had offered but he turned me down. I don't think he really cares for my driving. LOL.

We are hoping to take the kids to do something fun either today or tomorrow. I am not sure yet what it will be. But I am sure we will think of something. Any ideas?

Monday we will be making a trip to Michigan to pick up Bill's kids. Hopefully we will be able to see some people while we are in town.

We have been very busy here. With Cub scout Christmas parties and Elementary School concerts.

Here is some video of Mike's concert. He is playing in the percussion. They have been playing for about 4 months. This is the first year that they are allowed to take lessons. He is the boy in the back on the end.

This video is of the 3 , 4, and 5 graders singing. Mike is in the front row next to the chorus director. He is wearing a red sweater.

If I don't get a chance to get back here before Christmas. Our Family wishes you a Merry Christmas.

Black Friday Find

Bill had to work at the store that night of Black Friday. I had given him my list of things to get the kids for Christmas. I have to say in the way of toys there wans't much of a selection this year.

To my surprise Bill came home with something that was not on the list. Surprise surprise there!
He is always adding to my list.

It was a nice thought but I think someone else in the house will have more fun of using it than me. She has already declared it hers.

I do love the gift. It is light, easy to move from place to place, and who doesn't like the color pink.

Can you guess what it is?
I think he thought the color would make me want to use it more. LOL

I hope everyone had a chance to get out there and get their deals.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from one Pilgrim's home to another.

Winter Already

It has become winter here in Northwest Pennsylvania. I think we have about A foot of snow on the ground with more accumulation this week. My kids just love the snow. When Mike woke up the next morning after the snow fell he was begging me to let him go outside. Here he is trying to tempt to build a snowman. The snow really would not pack so he ended up with a small yet cute one. Plus it was very cold outside. I have not yet had the chance to get them the snow gear that he should have. So he wasn't out there very long. Of course Mom had to let him have something warm to drink along with every kids favorite. COOKIES!

I got it done (almost)

Yesterday I had tons of things on my to-do list.

Let's just say that as soon as I was done typing my message there was a knock on the door. I was like who could that be. It was the repair man here to start my ceiling. Apparently they finished early with the job next door. The good news is that the ceiling wasn't as bad as they thought. The bad news is my house was a wreck. The main part of the mess was the kitchen. I bake a lot and don't always have enough energy to clean it up right afterward. They were here for a total of 10 min then they were out the door. They will be here today to sand and re-mud. Then they will do it again on Monday. On Tuesday they will repaint the whole ceiling.

After that Mike came home from school . They had a half day cause of teacher conferences and no school today. Bill thought it would be great to leave and go get lunch at the pizza place. So we went there. Then it was time for the conference.

I was told exactly what I told you I would be told. Mike is a very bright child he lacks effort and focus. Hopefully we will be working on that. I have a plan in place. Wish me luck.

None of the house got cleaned. Until this morning. Bill got home from work and I put him to work helping me get things done. We had it all done before the repair men got here. Whew.

The things on my to do list today is laundry and doing a little baking. I have a new Amish white bread recipe that I have been itchin to try. The kids are watching movies and playing with Play-Doh. Oh what a great day!

The Plans for the day

Today seems like it is going to be a busy day.

1. I really need to be cleaning my house today and not be on the computer so much. There are people coming to fix my ceiling in the morning. There was a leak in the bathroom and made a huge ceiling bubble.

2. I bought some totes to store some of Andrea's clothes. She has gone through a huge growth spurt and now I need to go through everything and see what she can actually wear. It seems that I have tons of 12- 24 months things. She spent forever in this size. From the time she was 2-3 1/2. Now we have made it to 3T bottoms and 4-5 tops. I think it took forever for us to get to this point. Yeah go us!

3. I have parent teacher conference with Mike's teacher at 2:30. You can just wish me luck there. Who knows what I will be told. Well I have some speculation of what I will be told. My child is smart but lacks effort. LOL He is like almost every boy I know.

4. Then it is home and to make supper.Getting everyone settled. Bill has to work tonight so I try to have dinner done early so he can go to bed. He works midnights.

I think that is all I have to do. Hopefully I can accomplish some or most of it.

Halloween

I know that these are a few days late. But my battery died in my camera and I had to let it charge quite a while before I could get these on my computer. We had a great time trick-or-treating. Andrea was really into it this year and Mike was old enough to go with his friends on his own.
I had bought the kids cute felt bags from Big Lots to collect their candy. They were a little to big for Andrea. But of course Miss Independent didn't want any help carry it. She was tripping all night. But she had a great time and it didn't even phase her. I hope that you enjoy the pictures of the kids.

Look what I woke up to

Look what I woke up to this morning. The good news is that it is very pretty. The bad new is we are in for more today. Another 4-6 inches worth. Of course the kids just want to play in it before school and I just want them to stay dry. I did promise Andrea that she could play in it when she got home from school. Last year she didn't want to come in from playing in the snow. She loves it so much. Mike had a hard time bringing her inside the house. He likes it but can only take so much before he is freezing. Not to mention he has no meat on his skinny body.
I finally had to bribe her with some hot chocolate and cookies. What kid doesn't want that?

It is very scary outside right now. The leaves haven't fallen completely off of the trees and the snow is the very heavy wet kind. The trees are getting weighed down and they are just snapping. As you can see in the pictures we have woods behind us. So imagine everything I am hearing at this moment. Lots of cracking and popping. Every once in awhile it is followed by a crash. Oh what a joyful day. I think I will stay inside and bake all day.

Let it Snow

I know what you are thinking. Oh no not SNOW! Well everyone here is getting ready for the first snow fall. Yesterday we had just a few flurries but nothing to serious. As a matter of fact I never knew that we had flurries someone had to tell me.
But tonight we are suppose to get 4 inches by morning. At least that is what the weatherman says. I can't wait to take tons of pictures of the kids in in the snow playing. Andrea just loves the snow.

Do you think that we can trust him? Will his prediction come true? If it does I am not sure how Trick or Treat will go. I haven't even bought Andrea a costume yet. I have been waiting because I was not sure what the weather would be. Mike got his last week and he will be a mobster from the 30's. With his black pinstriped suit , black shirt, and white tie. Complete with a hat and of course the gun. What mobster outfit isn't complete without a gun?
Andrea keeps changing her mind from a princess to a cat. I am not sure what it will be. I am leaning towards princess but with the weather who knows. Can you still make a princess costume look good over top of a snow suit? I dunno we will see.
