Our Visit With the Sweats

We had to go pick up my step children in Michigan. While we were in town we thought we would go and visit Tonya, Knoah, and family.

Tonya made some great food. Grilled bar-b-que chicken, hamburgers ,hot dogs, and some great summer salads. We just sat around and hung out. After driving all we wanted to do was chill out and relax. That was exactly what we did.
We shared our birth stories, what was new with our famlies, and swaped some great parenting advice.
Tonya was excited about next years LPA national. They have already started saving. She shared the article that was going to be in the newspaper the next day. All of this was going on while the kids got a chance to play with each other. Unforunatly we were not able to capture Andrea and Knoah together playing. They both are very busy kids and I think Knoah was a little tired. He wanted his bed and a bubba. Poor guy.
Andrea did manage to steal my camera. I think she has a great career in photography. Her pics turned out better than mine.

Andrea and Knoah thought that they would take each others picture. Andrea took this picture.

Heaven, my step-daughter playing with Knoah

Andrea playing. You can kinda see Knoah in the background. This is the only shot where you can see both of them together.

We were very excited to visit. On our way back we will definetly stop back through to visit again.

See you next time!

Only 53 more to go.

When I first started this blog I didn't think anyone would be reading it. When I would check the comment box I would get extremely frustrated. Was anyone reading this?
That was when I decided to add the counter on the page. Then I would know for sure that I wasn't wasting my time posting when no one was reading it.
Well now we are close to having 500 hits. Only 53 more to go!
It would be nice if you all would comment more. It is great hearing from all of you.

Guess Where We Are Going!

Can you guess where we will be going? Can ya guess? Well can ya?

Ok enough of the suspense.

We will be traveling to Michigan to pick up my step-children on Saturday. On our visit there we will be stopping in to see some great friends of ours.Tonya, Knoah, and family. We are so excited about getting to visit with them!
My DH and Tonya's husband go back. When we get back from our trip I will fill you in on how we all know each other. But, in the mean time I will be getting ready for our big trip! I am so excited I am bursting at the seams. In the mean time you can check out
Tonya's blog

More Yard Sales

Yard Sales is one way that I try to be frugal. Have you ever heard the phrase buy used and save the difference? It saves you a whole lot of money.
Yesterday I found a skirt and 4 tops for Andrea. They were all name brand. Most were from The Children Place. I spent $2.50 on all of those things. You can't beat that. They items I purchased looked brand new or maybe worn once.
Today is out community yard sales. I am hoping to find lots of things. I really need to find my kids clothes. They have gone though a major growth spurt.
Yesterday I came home with some neat finds. I am hoping to do the same thing today.
I will post later about my adventure.

Ta-ta for now and wish me luck!

Yard Sales

I just love a good yard sale. Today I found a maple dining room table for $10. We were in desperate need of one. It is small and seats 4. Which is perfect for us.

Also some great home decorations. I think I spent #3 for all of this.
I also found 2 travel games. These are great for camping and traveling to families houses.
There is also a Mom to Mom sale tomorrow at the YMCA so I am hoping to score clothes for my kids then. Wish me luck! Happy Yard Saling!

Showin some love to my friends in Michigan

Since I am hoping to be in Michigan next weekend. I thought I would show some love to you gals and post some of the deals from the stores in Monroe, Michigan. Showin some love to ya Tonya.

Summer Fun

We have been very busy around here. We went to the Erie Peninsula. It was very warm but the water was a little cooler than I would of liked it to be. The kids loved to be there. I think we spent 4 hours at the beach. Thank goodness that I brought sunscreen and remembered to reapply it. Of course I remembered that with the kids. I on the other hand thought I could use a suntan and decided to go without. That was a huge mistake.

The back of my neck and shoulders got burned. I did have on a tank top on over my swimsuit so nothing else was burned.I think I would have been one hurting unit if I had not had that on.
On Saturday a friend of mine and I went to find several yard sales. We had a blast.I found a new winter coat for Andrea. The sleeves are a little long but by winter I think it should fit her perfectly. I might be able to get two winters out of it. It is white and fury. It is reversible. On the inside it is purple. It has a Barbie logo on it. Very cute.
Andrea loves it and has been begging me to let her wear it. No matter if it is 80 degrees outside. I had to hide the coat in my bedroom. Hopefully she won't find it. When she gets on a kick about something it is sometimes hard to divert her.

Later that evening we went to the fireworks. We sat on a pontoon boat at the dock and watched them being shot out over the local lake here. They were very pretty.
While we were there Mike got some fishing in. All they caught were tiny sun fish but it was fun none the less.

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summers. It is halfway over so enjoy while it lasts.

Ta-ta for now.

Round 1: Bicycle 1, Michael 0

Michael participates in the local playground summer program. Which is just down the hill from where we live. We live on a pretty steep hill. This year we decided Mike was old enough to ride his bike down the hill by himself. This morning we get a call from the park program saying that Mike was in an accident and he was being taken to the hospital. Which right beside the park. Thank Goodness.
He was going to fast and lost control of the bike and went over the handle bars. He crashed right beside where an ambulance was parked. Again Praise God.
So I jumped in the car and ran down to the hospital.Thank God nothing was broken. Just sever road rash. I mean severe.
I think there will be no more riding to the park this summer.
After we got home someone from the hospital called and said that they heard Mike was in a bike accident and he didn't have a helmet. I guess they have a program that provide free helmets and they wanted to give Mike a new bike helmet. So back to the Er we went for a bike helmet. So now we are back home to stay for awhile. Mike is watching a movie and resting. Hopefully this will be last of the excitement for the summer.

Uploading a video Question

O.K today I thought I would upload a video. It seems to be taking forever. How long should it take? Am I doing it the right way?
I click on the add video button. I chose the video off of my computer then I clicked on approve terms and conditions. After all of that I get the screen that says it is uploading.
I don't think it should be taking this long.
If any of you have any other suggestions. Please leave me a comment. Tell me what I am doing wrong.
Tata for now.

Are you all freezing?

Ok I thought this was suppose to be summer. It is so cold here. I remember last year I had my shorts out and was enjoying being outside. Not here! Not now! I took a shower, got out, then I stuck a pair of flannel PJ bottoms on with a long sleeve shirt. My fingers are ice cold.

Just thought I would update everyone on things that are going on around here now.
Yesterday I went to the ER. I was having severe pain in my lower back. Turns out I have a severe kidney infection. Antibiotics for me. YIPPIE :( Not really.

Mike is staying at his dad's this week. He is attending Boro Kids Wrestling Camp. It is a wrestling camp that is put on by Edinboro University wrestlers. He went last year and had a great time. Mike usually wrestles all year round. But with car problems he has slowed down a little. That is a good thing for mom. I kinda get burned out.

We just finished started with filling out papers for an Angle Flight for Andrea and I. We have an appointment to see Dr. Bober and Dr. Mackenzie at the Alfred Dupont center in August.
We are hoping that we get a definable diagnosis at that time. Although I am not getting my hopes up. I guess I am just use to the doctors saying they don't know.

Well that is all that is going on here. I hope that everyone is doing o.k. where you are.
Ta ta for now,

This and That

Just a reminder to get the Sunday paper tomorrow. There are some great deals going on at CVS this week. If you would like to see what is on sale so you can organize your shopping trip.Click on the shiny penny.Which will take you to Denise's blog. She has lists everything on sale and can tell you where to get a coupon for it.

A little update on the baby birds in the nest above my porch light. They have left the nest. I was quite bummed that I didn't notice them sooner. It would have been nice to enjoy them a little longer.Maybe they will be back next year.

Have any of you started a vegetable garden? We really don't have room for a big garden. But, I did manage to plant a few tomato and green pepper plants. My first batch of plants didn't take. They were quite dead when I bought them. I was hoping that they would come alive.Needles to say they didn't. So hubby stopped at a nursery and we bought. Two more tomato plants and three green pepper plants. They were already started. I had to stake up the tomatoes. That is how advanced they were. I am hoping they will produce veggies around the 4th of July. I will keep you posted on that.

That is all for tonight. Ta ta for now.
